AMA coding "help" website

So if you go to the AMA CPT website, there is a section in which you can look up codes to get an idea of Relative Value Units (RVU’s) to see what something is “worth” to the system (or at least how much it reimburses- as what it’s worth has zero correlation to how much the code reimburses…for another post).  Anyhow, the site has a search function in which you punch in the code or keywords and it spits out a RVU.  Unfortunately the system limits how many you can look up for free.  And apparently the keyword function is awful.  I don’t know these codes off the top of my head, so I punched in “hip fracture” and NOTHING.  Then I punched in multiple other permutations of “fracture” and it returned zilch, nana and bupkus.  Great system. This is sort of like a restaurant owner having to pay the guy who prints his menus, to find out how to much he (the owner) needs to change his patrons at the cash register.

Thanks AMA for making my life easier….and you wonder why things are screwed up?
